A head-on collision at 3am Saturday, on Montauk Highway was so severe that the Southampton Fire Department had to use the Jaws of Life to cut open the Taxi to free one of the occupants. According to a report from 27east, emergency crews were at the scene for more than three hours.
The taxi was traveling northeast on Montauk Highway and the SUV turned southwest onto the highway from Cobb Road.
A helicopter took one of the injured to Stony Brook University Hospital and two others went to Southampton Hospital in an ambulance.
